October 2024: The group goes to the ECS PRiME 2024 Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii! Jeff, Sapna, Willa, Guilherme, and Tianna give their talks in the Battery Division. Sapna, Willa, Zach, Shiyu, Thanh, and Isha present posters in the General Student Poster Session.

July 2024: The group says goodbye to our postdoc Jiyoung, who is starting in the fall as an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering department at Ajou University!

January 2024: The group welcomes three new PhD students: Shiyu, Thanh, and Isha!

November 2023: Sapna wins 1st place in the poster session at the AICHE Battery and Energy Storage Conference.

November 2023: Willa and Sapna become the first students in the lab to pass their qualifying exams to become PhD candidates!

August 2023: Congrats to our summer students Erin Skillon (SROP program, University of Michigan) and Ishba Aftab (NURPH program, Chicago Math and Science Academy) on culminating their summer research projects with poster presentations! Erin worked on Characterizing the Electric Double Layer in Lithium Metal Batteries, and Ishba worked on Evaluating the Impact of Cathode Fabrication Parameters on Battery Performance.

July 2023: Guilherme and Willa present at the Context, Connections, and Community (C3S) Symposium poster session. Congrats to Willa on receiving 2nd place for her poster presentation!

May 2023: Amy and Rochit defend! Congrats to the first graduates of the group on successfully defending their MS theses!

March 2023: Jiyoung Lee joins the group as a postdoctoral researcher.

January 2023: Tianna Green and Zach Liu join the group as PhD students and Yoshita Gupta joins as a Masters student co-advised with the Richards Lab.

November 2022: Undergraduate student Natan Spear wins a prize at the AICHE Undergraduate Poster Session! He presented on his work evaluating fluorinated electrolytes for Lithium Metal Batteries.
